What is lead time?

Brewing time is the time it takes for the water to flow through when brewing espresso.

The run time for a single shot of espresso should be between 20-30 seconds. We believe that the perfect shot of espresso should have a run time right in between. That’s 25 seconds. But again. Much here in the world of coffee is subjective. Feel free to shuffle!

However, it’s all about hitting the sweet spot. The run time affects the taste of the coffee. Too fast and the coffee will taste sour. Too slow and the coffee becomes bitter and dry.

There are various factors that affect brewing time, but the grind of your coffee is particularly important. When you have a coarsely ground coffee, the coffee flows more quickly through the water. And vice versa when you have a finely ground coffee.
